Danish Cinema
Another Round
Druk
Four middle-aged Danish high school teachers agree to test the theory that humans function better with a constant low level of alcohol in their blood. What starts as a philosophical experiment becomes a genuine liberation — and then something more dangerous. Vinterberg made this film after losing his daughter in a car accident four days into shooting; the film is, against all odds, a celebration of life, not a warning against it. The final scene — Mads Mikkelsen dancing — is one of the great moments in recent cinema. Won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
