Der Tunnel

Cold War Berlin, 1961. A champion swimmer uses his skills and determination to dig a tunnel under the Wall to free his sister trapped on the Eastern side. Tense, human, and largely forgotten outside Germany — one of the great Cold War dramas, precise in its suspense and honest about what freedom actually costs: not just effort but the people around you who bear the risk.
